DHSUD: PBBM wants to build a diverse, progressive community for the underprivileged
The Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program under the Marcos administration is more than just building houses; it is about creating a multi-faceted and progressive community for the poor, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said on Friday.
Acuzar mentioned that this initiative is currently in progress, particularly in the cities of Pasay, Quezon, and Caloocan.
He added that they are also planning to pilot a project focused on urban redevelopment and the relocation of informal settlers.
Isip-isipin natin ha, kapag itong mga slum areas na ito ay ma-convert natin into a new development all over the place, tingnan mo ang itsura ng Pilipinas – gaganda ‘di ba,” he added.
With all the mentioned amenities, Acuzar then asked the public to “wait,” noting that the construction requires long-term commitment to achieve better results.
Ang construction po nito ay two years and a half,” he said.
The DHSUD official also clarified that the housing is not “free,” considering that it is funded by the private sector.
Iyong private funds po kailangang bayaran,” he said.
By giving interest subsidy, nagkaroon kayo ng access sa bangko,” he added. PND
